• Installing DBXL on Web Server with Separate SQL Machine

If you are installing DBXL on a Web Server and setting it up to access a separate SQL server machine on your network, you need to add a security login to that separate SQL server machine that enables the machine running DBXL to access it. Use DOMAIN\MACHINENAME$ where DOMAIN is the domain in which both machines are joined and MACHINENAME is the ...

• Re: Infopath with webservice connection

Hi RD, You can install the Web service on the same directory as SharePoint but you'll want to make sure that there is no interference between the too, since SharePoint server is also a collection of Web services. In general you want to create a data connection for the ASMX page of your Web service. Without looking at your Web service ...

• Re: Installation error

Hi again, Try unchecking Forms Viewer so that it doesn't install and see if this helps. Forms Viewer wants to use Forms and that may have already been created without access. At any rate, our Forms Viewer product does not need to install in order for you to try the SQL Web Service suite.
• Re: Decrease the time it takes for a form to open in SharePoint

In SharePoint, you can change the default view of the list to reduce the size and that will speed up performance, but if you need to get everything, you'll want to put it in a database and use filtering to progressively pull down the data in a series of cascading dropdowns. This makes it much less data intensive. Create a ...

• Re: Connecting to a web service through c# code in VSTA

Hi Sweta, You don't necessarily need code to connect to a Web service. Just add a data connection and specify Web service. Because Web service's return XML, InfoPath can handle them natively. Cheers!

• Re: Installation error

Hi OKWArchitects and welcome to the forum! I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing an installation error. During the installation, there is a button to Test Connection which you can use to make sure the database name is correct. Please try to install again and test this. What are you specifying for your SQL 2005 database name? Is it ...
• Re: No results from AD WebService call

OK, so it worked on the server. That's a key piece of info. And you can get to the Web service from the local machine, so it should work. Is the local machine joined to the domain where the web service is running?
• Re: Link to the attachment

Hi all, I have posted our solution that does what devlizard suggests here: http://www.infopathdev.com/files/folders/examples/entry29401.aspx This solution shows how you can copy InfoPath attachments to SharePoint document library and convert the Base64 string attachment in your InfoPath form into a link to the uploaded SharePoint document. • Re: SP and full Trusted

Hi Shayrlz and welcome! Yes, but you will need to sign them with a certificate or create a MSI package to deploy them to desktops and save the template.XML to the SharePoint site. In general, you shouldn't have to be Full Trust. It is a bad practice, so please examine why you are making your form Full Trust carefully. There are very few valid ...

• Re: hide submit button after form has been submitted by user

Hi Undrdg and welcome, You can place the button in a section and conditionally hide the section based on a True/False field in your form. Add a field that defaults to False. Set this field to True when the button is clicked after you successfully submit the form. Double click the section in the InfoPath designer and add a conditional display ...
