When you add a field, you can add it as an attribute instead of element. Attached pic.

Hi Carrie,
The form contains two controls - below are the details:
1. Created a repeating table with duplicate values (that is field2 in group2)
2. Added a drop-down list box (that is field1) and bound it to the repeating table - attached a screenshot of the filter condition.
Hope that helps!

You can add those checkboxes to a section, and add a attribute and set it to "submitted" once when the form is successfully emailed.
In the section (where the checkboxes are there), add a conditional formattion that if status != submitted then hide this control.

Use a repeating table and bind it to your secondary data source (in this case, it's your SQL table). To do this follow these steps:
1. Add a repeating table.
2. Right click on the repeating table, and select 'Change Binding...'.
3. Select secondary data source, and select the table name and click next.
4. Select the columns you want ...

I think that error usually occurs if xsi:nil attribute is present, but as your fields are of string data type, so check your xpath expression. Can you show how your schema looks?

I am glad you got what you are looking for! :)

I was using the same action for something else in SPD 2010 couple of days back, and found this great article online. Go through that and see if it helps you.Good Luck!

We have a tool called qRules that does this, and you can check that out here. Also, go through this documentation that does something similar to what you asked. Hope that helps!

Can you go through this forum post? - where I attached a sample template which validates a drop-down list for duplicates.

Preceding means it contains all nodes that are before the context node in document order. Look at my previous post link where I did something similar to what you asked - but you need to modify the rule to make it work for the repeating section.
Hope that helps!
