you can do it for sections and repeating sections as will if you go to Tools>Form Options. Click on the defualt values button. Unchecking the checkbox next to a field will make it collapsed by default.

  • Re: Copy Data from Secondary to Main Data Sources

I have a knack for finding the Rube Goldberg way of doing things sometimes, this may be one. I'm not familar with sharepoint, but I'm assuming it has a primary key field like that in access. If thats the case: Have a repeating section bound to a table in access or something. Make sure theres an extra field in the table, call it ...

  • A name was started with an invalid character

I'm rebuilding my original cancer tracking form, because, frankly, it sucked, and the orthopedic surgeon is gone this week, and its hard to work on it without him. anyways, done with my life story. I created a new database in access. There are several queries that help pull out specific records for a report. However, one query is giving me ...

  • Re: "spontaneous" instantiation of a repeating table

i ran into this problem again today, fixed it a different way. definatly a bug this time... i had 1 parent table and 4 child tables. the default values for the tables were all unchecked so they would not display on startup. 3 of the 4 child tables would 'spontaneously' create a new record when i created a new record in the parent table. i ...

The hospital that I work for did not approve loading the InfoPath SDK onto my computer. Because I see so much potential for the application I am developing, I bought a laptop and bring that into the hospital to do my work on. I installed the Wizard, registered the two files, and ran the wizard. However, when it comes time to develop the xsl ...

  • need for new forum

I think the moderators should make a new forum for things that tweak people while using InfoPath. For instance, today, I was using a scrolling section for the first time and it was driving me nuts. In Design mode, this is not user friendly at all. Clicking off the scroll bar and clicking back on resulted in the scroll bar automatically going to ...

  • Re: many to many relationship

i tried doing it that way, didnt have much success. But then I realized, instead of essentially doing a lookup, why dont I really do a lookup. So I created a secondary connection from the main table, and populated the text box through the secondary connection. Thanks for the help, and thanks for making me aware of that ingenius current() ...
