  • Infopath crashes on launch

I have a situation where Infopath no longer opens my form without crashing. My Infopath document does have VB Code and integrates with Sharepoint. Everything worked fine yesterday but today (I haven't intentionally made any changes) when I launch the form via Debug or Form Preview, some activity starts but before the form is ever displayed, I ...

I'm sure you are glad to hear that I finally got it working using the web service interface to sharepoint. This is the code that was based on the book that I finally got adapted to my use: listName = ''{B6FB0ADA-7507-44C7-A378-73A92B5771BE}'' listView = ''{06A69E6C-E9E2-409D-BD4E-CAB0DB7FDB31}'' istsservice = New ...

If I am not mistaken the code sample you suggest are for a FORM document. I am wanting to update a Sharepoint LIST. Am I missing something?

Thanks for the link. I'm still missing something (sorry to be so difficult) but the example in the book is: id = CreateTask( _ thisXDocument.DOM.selectSingleNode(''/my:myFields/my:title'').text, _ thisXDocument.DOM.selectSingleNode(''/my:myFields/my:body'').xml) which gets the Main document. If you had a secondary document named ''secDoc'' with ...

  • Book Sample Clarification

I have moved on to more difficult challenges with Infopath and Sharepoint and have found the examples in Chapter 9 very helpful. I am trying to adapt the example on page 296 ''Extending Sharepoint Submit Example to Create a Task''. My scenario is a bit different than the example in that the Sharepoint List is a Secondary Data Source instead of ...

  • Re: SharePoint Cache?

My original implementation was a Sharepoint List Named ''Project Category''. I deleted the data connection and added a new one for a Sharepoint Form Library ''Project Category Master''. The new connection retained the fields from the old one. The only way I could get this to work was to delete the xsd file with the form and replace it with the ...

I got around this by manually replacing the xsd file for the new form library. Not sure why I have to do this though.

  • SharePoint Cache?

I am modifying and existing Sharepoint site and Infopath document. Rather than use a Sharepoint List, I changed it to a Sharepoint Form Library. The problem is that after deleting the old Data Connection and Adding a New one for the Form library, the Data Schema still reflects the Old Sharepoint list. I have added and deleted a number of times ...

  • Re: VB and Secondary Data Sources

Thanks again, however more questions, sorry to be so persistent. What I am ultimately trying to do is find the Last_Used field from the ProjectCategory secondary list that matched the ProjectCategoryCode (field from my Main Form), increment it by one and write the updated Last_Used back to my secondary data source. This is relatively straight ...

  • Re: VB and Secondary Data Sources

Thanks again you have been mose helpful. I am still a bit confused. My secondary source has a Infodath default structure of: myfields/mydata/ProjectCategory/Last_Used. To Dim ''Last_Used'' to use in my code would i do this? projectCategory.selectSingleNode(''/my:myFields/my:dataFields/my:ProjectCategory) dim secField as IXMLDOMDocument2 ...
