Each form needs to have a ref no when it is submitted to the library. The department currently do this by hand on a printed bit of paper- at the moment they are on about ref no 150 and when we switch over to the InfoPath form which submits to a form library I need the ref number field to automatically update. I have a form where the users have to attach a copy of their drivers licence and the users havent been putting the file in the correct format before submitting so we cant always open the licence. Is there a way I can only allow the users to attach a file that is either .jpg or .pdf?

Thanks for your answer Jim. I didnt think about permissions- the users have permission on the original library but not on the library that the forms move to - so ive given them 'contribute' permissions on this library and hopefully this does the trick. Thanks again :)

The workflow is set up on the library so if FormState = complete then copy current item to complete forms and delete current item from the original libray.. when i was creating the form this all worked as it should, form state would be complete and the form would move. now that the form has gone live in the organisation, the rest of the workflow ...
