• Re: Can't open an .xml InfoPath form...

I solved this problem. Solution: In the header of the .xml documents (I had two that were relevent), within this tag: <?mso-infoPathSolution ....?> there is an href= attribute which points to the template.xsn filepath on SharePoint server. These 2 files needed to be updated in both .xml files to reflect the correct server ...

  • Can't open an .xml InfoPath form...

I have a problem with some users not being able to open InfoPath form. Here’s the scenario. (I didn’t set this up and am new to InfoPath forms development). We have an C# application that sends email notifications to managers to inform them of an employee’s review date. An InfoPath review.xml file is attached to the email with the ...

  • Re: Auto fill working intermittently

It's been a while since I've been able to revisit this problem. Hilary, thank you for pointing out the "is not blank" issue. It should have dawned on me....but it didn't, and I appreciate you spelling it out! I tried Ernesto's suggestion (thank you Ernesto) and it worked. I created an "is not ...

  • Re: Problem populating Infopath Dropdown with lookup column (in Sharepoint)

What if you gave the field a default value on load like a space or . (dot) or something that would change? Kind of a lame approach but it might work.

  • Re: Newbie-First Run at a infoPath Form....

Yes, that is what I've done (use text boxes for auto fill fields) although you can probably use any type of control. I updated my post with the part of the steps that are important to this process - read it again when it appears. (For some reason it doesn't update immediately). This thread addresses the issue you're having: ...

  • Re: Newbie-First Run at a infoPath Form....

You stated in your first post that project manager is a drop down list which is appropriate if you want the user to choose a project and based on choice have other controls (like text boxes) auto-populate. When you get to the part (copied below) in the steps (filtering )that is where the auto-fill trickery happens. You ...

  • Re: Newbie-First Run at a infoPath Form....

Test it in Preview mode to populate drop down lists. If you already have and still don't see anything in the lists, then you probably didn't set up your filter correctly....take another look~

I understand what Hilary is saying if it's true that you have an "original" list to read from instead. I don't know if this will work but can you add a function to parse the string value to strip out the prefix? e.g. substring(@CorrectValue1, 4, 4)?? Not sure but you could play around with it.

I haven't tried this yet but this article may be a potential solution to this problem: http://sharepointgeorge.com/2010/item-level-permissions-infopath-forms-sharepoint-designer-workflows/ I love having forum conversations with myself. :(

Update: I solved the problem. Found most of my answer thanks to this post: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointinfopath/thread/c04ef25e-d0f1-4d6d-bb39-f103ffe1fee5 Solution: find all references to offending (missing) data object in the .xsn "package" files that are created when you design your ...
