Hi CSpace and welcome,
Yes, you are right. You need to tack on the header information. We have various code that does this lying around the InfoPath "shop floor". The trick is finding someone and allocating time to get the code and package it off to you. :) I'm guessing that would take about 30 minutes or so to do and I'd have ...

Hi USAComp2k3 and welcome,
Greg Collins recently blogged a technique we use to send around forms: http://www.infopathdev.com/blogs/greg/archive/2009/04/23/create-a-split-public-private-form.aspx. The key thing here is creating two versions of the form. The first version is a restricted URN based solution and you just attach the XSN and send it. ...

Hi SlingerOnline,
I don't quite understand this. You say you want to automatically number a newly submitted document. Well, that requires some locking to prevent another user from submitting at the same time and getting the same number. Why not use a GUID for that? You could generate a GUID on submit and that would be unique for the document. ...

Hi KLC2009,
Yes, you can do this. If you are using MOSS 2007, please take a look at Universal Data Connections (UDCs). We have a UDC Editor tool that is free as well as several blogs and samples that use them. You just define it once and then the form will load the UDC file to connect to the data source. If you then make the UDC relative to the ...

Hi CHaris1980,
I remember a question about this at the MVP Summit 3 years ago when Microsoft was demonstrating the feature. Unfortunately, I don't remember the answer, but I want to say that it required coding. Here's a link I found that hints at how to modify. The height of the dialog must also be settable... ...

Hi Ian,
Thanks for the heads up. I am investigating this now. We try to answer most forum posts but as the forum grows, we need to rely more on people like you to help us. Obviously, if we spent all of our time just responding to posts, we would go out of business and InfoPathDev would die. That would do nobody any good. Anyway, we're going ...

Hi Tim Noonan and welcome!
Easiest way would be to use User Roles and have conditional formatting based on the user role that hides or shows a section which contains the signature block. If you need to sign the entire form, then you could have two views. One which has the signature, and another which doesn't and switch the views on Open ...

Well, maybe this is an encoding issue. Open the XML of the form in Notepad and tell us what you see in the top of the file... Do you have any programming code (i.e. business logic) in your form?

Nice job Slinger! What's the last issue?

Check out the eval function.
