Hi Patrick,
Thanks for getting back to me. I have looked at creating a rule with the button selected and it only has the formatting option available. how would I go about changing the value of the field using the submit function?

qRules does work in the Sandbox (i.e. - as a form published directly to a form library) if the user is a site collection admin. However, there is an Office 365 bug that is causing issues with qRules browser forms in Office 365. Here is a KB on that: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2837888?wa=wsignin1.0

I have created a drop down list to point to a SharePoint library, however once I have selected a item and other fields populate because I have created rules, once I click that drop down and change the item it does not auto change the other fields. What am I doing wrong?

if the end user does not have Infopath installed locally, the only way they can use an Infopath form is if you use the 'web browser form' option. i think in IP2007 there are some features that won't work as a web-based form but you can usually figure a workaround if you have trouble.
