Hi there,
I'm not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for, but cascading controls may be helpful for at least your first part. Here is a tutorial video that may help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SH7xUEcQwwg
You should use different views as your "tabs".

You could generate a GUID using qRules and use that as your ID. Another method could be to take the max(ID) + 1 on the current IDs of the list.
-
If you want to generate a random number, you'll have to write custom code. Alternatively, qRules has a GenerateNumber function which you can use to generate a random ID without having to write your own code.
More on qRules: http://www.qdabra.com/en/products/qRules_new.aspx

You can use msxsl:format-date(). This will only work on the client however.

Hmmm I believe you have run into a pain point encountered by many people. This is a limitation in SharePoint with the merge function. I don't believe there is an easy workaround to parse out the fields. Perhaps you can put your own delimiter as part of the value that you are displaying in the MSLB? There would be alot ...
-
The concept should be similar with an expression box. Instead of using a validation rule, you can use the formatting rule the same way and make the background red or something. Sorry I'm not sure what your exact scenario here is, so I'm making a few assumptions in my explanations :)

I believe this function only works on the client, so that won't be a good solution for you :(
-
Glad that worked out for you :)
-
Also be sure to republish your form after you make this change.

File --> Form Options --> Property Promotion --> Select your MSLB field --> Modify --> Function --> Select Merge
