Your secondary data connection called schools-email-lookup needs to also include the email column from that list. Can you update your test form & re-attach? Also- when working with list forms, you often need to select "Show advanced view" on the field picker dialogs.

You'll have a rule on the dropdown field to set a field's value - this can be a field in your main data source that is not displayed on the form. In the rule, you'll set the target field to the email column from your list. There is a button when you pick the field that says "Filter Data" - click that, and you can add a rule ...

Filler or Browser form? If browser, check the SharePoint logs. I'm sure you've already verified permissions on the form library? Does this happen when updating existing forms, submitting new forms or both?

When you select the field for your count function, in this case Status, you added a filter for Status = Active. Modify the filter to include Type = Risk. Attach your form to a reply under the Options tab if you need a hand. :)

So - I gave you a sample with "today" - you can see in the concat statement, today is outside the quotes. Put the qRules execution history on your form and you'll see the actual command that was executed with the value of today's date. The same approach works for any field - instead of the today function, you can use the field ...

Oh wow, you made me laugh & I really needed that today! :) My first instinct is that the template is not being opened correctly - like, someone will be using Chrome, where the template will end up downloaded, then they try to open it from the downloads folder. But it sounds like this isn't happening when she opens the form, but instead ...

Yup. You got it. The template.xml should have the processing instructions in it as well, so hopefully the submitted XML are properly linked to the correct template, but if you have any trouble, let me know. SubmitToSharePoint has a param that can take a data source, so you just give it the data source of the secondary data connection that has the ...

Hi - sorry I'm so late seeing this. If the goal is to update a list from an InfoPath form, you will need to use code, qRules or CAML. Since it sounds like this is a pretty simple update, I'd probably try the CAML route. There should be a number of posts online about the technique. :)

I'd think you could use SubmitToSharePoint command - it submits XML to a library. You'd probably need to add an XML stub with processing-instructions for the various form types you can submit to (if you save the templates as source files, template.xml would make a great stub), use the SetXml command to set the stub to the correct current ...

You can use substring formulas to extract the parts of the date & concat to put them together in the format you want - here's a sample form with a few views - the Date Part view will show you the substring formulas. Not everything that is supported in the Filler (preview) will work in Browser, as you've found w/ your publishing ...
