Hi Drake,
If you were using the rich client, it would be a piece of cake since InfoPath sends e-mail with the data in the view.
SharePoint e-mail is limited. You could send them a link to a Web Server that had the XML and they could use IE to display the contents by applying the XSLT of the default view. We have a tool that dynamically displays ...

Unfortunately, this is a security limitation.
Here's a link to another recent post on this: http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/7131/44940.aspx#44940

Once again. You can't do it dynamically for browser based forms without writing some code that is not secure.
If you are using InfoPath rich client, the from address is the e-mail of the Outlook sender. That cannot be changed by default - it changes based on who is sending it. If you want to write your own app to do this based on SharePoint ...

Of course, you can do anything with code, but there’s a reason why SharePoint doesn't support it - AND THAT'S WHAT I AM TRYING TO GET YOU TO UNDERSTAND.
Meanwhile, on planet earth, this forum is for help with InfoPath, not Exchange or SMTP coding questions.

SharePoint prevents you from impersonating the sender's e-mail address because of security concerns. If someone spoofed Bill Gates e-mail, he'd get a ton of replies...

Well Moose with a handle like "Moose" I expect you are used to being in the swamp! :) Don't worry, I am not a skilled Moose hunter. Nor am I a dredger of swamps though ...
Seriously, though, if the extension of the file is XML and they have InfoPath 2003 installed, then it should be "easy as pie". My hunch-ola is ...

Hi Erik,
I sent e-mail to our K2 expert. Hopefully, he hasn't fallen off a cliff and can span the chasm for you. :)

It's just a matter of configuring the e-mail on your MOSS box.
Go to Application Management tab on the Central Administration site. Under SharePoint Web Application Management, click the E-mail settings link. Three properties are required for the server to send e-mail: Outbound SMTP server, From address, and Reply-to address. E-mail sent ...
