Here's another related thread on this from last week: http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/26464/92097.aspx#92097
I recommend querying the mail address of the user and promoting that property and having the workflow use it when it sends the notification.
That's easy and doesn't require a lookup during the workflow step. You just ...

So, you have a field with new user's email account. You'll also want a status field which you set to Submitted when you want to kick off the email.
Promote both of these fields - File -> Form Options -> Promoted Properties.
Republish your form to SharePoint.
Now, create a reusable workflow that emails a notification when the ...

Hi Josée,
One first imagines you could use GetUserProfileService to get the groups and then have the form's user role dialog lookup users from that, but it won't work because User Roles are based on active directory and SharePoint groups are defined separately (even though they are defined based on AD groups). Now you can go into your view's XSLT file (typically View1.xslt), find the dropdown and use xpath concat command to create a composite dropdown.

This thread is old and out-of-date.
Out-of-box, you can use SharePoint to generate iCal meetings. You just submit your InfoPath form data to a calendar and then use SharePoint URL formatting to create an iCal link.
Of course, your Outlook calendar can just be synched with the calendar too so that new submits automatically show up.
Please try ...

Easy to do.
Just right click on your multiple selection list box properties and look at the filter button and add conditions related to the first dropdown so it filters down the values based on that value..

Yes, you need a properly repeating structure.
Adding one with default values should resolve your issue.
