I'm slow to reply to this, I'm sorry. The only way I know to do this is code - and I agree, it seems like one of those things you should just be able to get without so much bother.

Great job finding the answer & thanks for posting it, sorry you ended up talking to yourself! :)

Hey, sorry you ended up answering your own question, but awesome job doing so! One thing to note (for future visitors to this thread) - if you are using Office 365 browser forms, you won't be able to use REST.... At least last time I checked, those services were blocked in InfoPath Forms Services.

Thank you SOOOO much for posting this info! Super helpful. :)

I get concerned about accidentally talking down to people 'cause it annoys me when people do it to me - but yeah, I never know what anyone's general level is (and also am trying to think of those who may read something later who may have a different level!) ;)

Sure, & I didn't mean to state the obvious - Hopefully the earlier poster will see your question & know which update fixed it for them. :)
-
I'm not sure what fixed the last poster's issue - but I would usually start with just making sure all updates have been installed. Have you done that? From there, I'd move on to repairing both Office 2016 & IP 2013.

This is not possible, I'm afraid, not even with code. InfoPath doesn't allow changing views on a field change. Just give the user some buttons to switch views with instead.

Can you preview the form and take a screenshot and attach that screenshot to a reply? I don't understand the connection between list 1 & 2. Or maybe you can just tell me the connection - it looks like your post got cut off somehow.

I'm really not sure - the fact that it is intermittent is kind of weird, right? You'd expect it to either work or not - any consistency across users? i.e., it always works for you, never works for Dave, etc?
