Hi Carl,
Easy to do this using InfoPath, a Web Service and SQL. If you install Qdabra's free trial Web Service (DBXL) you could have a solution in <1 hour that pulls the data from SQL and submits it back to SQL. This is a very common design pattern. If you'd like help setting it up, let us know. Good luck!

Hi Chris,
I don't think separate content types can use the same column. Try defining a separate column for InfoPath and then usng a rule in the view to display contents of one column or another depending on the type.

Are your users using browser based InfoPath? If so, and you are using the rich client, that could explain it. You'll need to create a UDC connection for the Web Service. Go to data connections and click Convert and browse to the Data Connections Library on your SharePoint site where you can save the UDC file.
Is the Web Service on the same ...

As long as the Web Service is running on a machine in the same domain as the server where your InfoPath form is published, Domain Trust should be fine. Try to type in the Web Service asmx link on a browser on a machine of a user who can't access. If they can see the Web Service in the browser, than InfoPath should be fine. It could be related ...

Another solution may be to use qRules v1.8 and a button without a border that inserts the row. That way the button can be Insert Above and the qRules command just does that. Here's the command:
Insert /parent=/my:myFields/my:Insert /child=my:InsertGroup /posn=1

Hi Dezign Guy,
You can use conditional formatting to hide show fields in sections based on whether those fields are blank. That would require wrapping each field in a section. Would be a lot of work. Why not just print the form as is? Why do you want to only show the filled in data? I mean the other fields are blank anyway. Maybe I just don't ...

Hi Jen,
Is it possible that you didn't change the data connection to use the SharePoint server machine and that you're still using LocalHost or something like that? If so, try updating the data connection Web Service to use the new server location and republish your XSN. Good luck!

Either you have a corrupt version of Office (Control Panel->Repair) or you have a form that exposes a bug in InfoPath. My guess is the former.

Hi JECowley,
This is a more involved question for this forum. The answer is likely to have someone look at your code and help you. It could be as easy as replacing the xpath with the one for your Main Data Source, but it will take someone time to debug it. Qdabra offers support packs: http://www.qdabra.com/en/products/Support.aspx. We'd be ...
