Well, in an effort to get something in production I had to resort to the high maintenance option of building permissions into my form for specific users; abandoning the user SharePoint lists. For those who care to know, I created a new text field called "Role" and added rules to the UserName field for each user with higher ...

Turns out, what I want to do doesn't seem doable...at least at my primitive level of skill with Infopath. I am coming from the VB world, where I am used to making a form do whatever I want. I have to get used to the limitations of web-based forms.
One thign I considered, to lesen the frequency of the dupe IDs wa to make the ID the ...

Hi Topper,
I guess I am becoming an advocate for this method to create a unique ID: http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/26341/91512.aspx#91512
I call it the double-submit method and it is foolproof. Basically you set value to a field called "key" and promote the field to the library. Create a retreive data connection to ...

My guess would be that there is something changing in the XML when you try to open it that wasn't changing before but I have no idea what that may be. Do you have an option to remove the signature so the form will open? If so, I'd do that, and save the XML locally as a copy. Then I'd compare it to the still signed version and ...

I had assistance from QDabra staff yesterday in setting up a form that calculated the difference in value from a meter reading entered today and the reading from yesterday. The solution pulled in a secondary data source, and set a rule to run after todays meter reading was entered in the form. The rule checked the last record ...
