I think you'll need to instead promote the field from the form again so that InfoPath can create the link between the field and the library.
You can do this when you republish the form, just don't use Quick Publish.
You may be able to select your new column when you re-publish and have the field values go to it - worth a try.

The scenario I am dealing with is this:
I have an InfoPath form that I started building linked to a SharePoint form library. Everything seemed to be fine except that I have a text field that, once the form was submitted, kept cutting off after a certain point. Not knowing any better, I tried to edit the field/column in SharePoint to ...

I'm having a problem where, after initially publishing/connecting my form to a form library on SharePoint, I deleted one of the columns/fields from SharePoint. I then re-added a column on SharePoint and want to tell the form to point to this new column, but I can't seem to find a way to do that. This sound like it might be helpful but I ...

Hi - your screenshot is not showing - can you try attaching it under the Options tab in a reply?
I think you'll have to use workflow for this if you are dealing with 2 separate lists - I'm not 100% sure what you are trying to do. Hopefully a screenshot will help.

Thanks Hillary. I wish there was another way (a bit sloppy) but it works without any problems. I ended storing the information on another field and promoting when publishing.
Thanks again.

Hello again,
If you've already figured out how to identify which rows belong to the employee/manager combination you want, I think you just need to modify your data connection to sort descending on whichever column you are using to determine the order (probably either Date or ID). Then when you use a filtered path to get the value, ...

The SP list is what I need the infopath form to pass this information to. There is a library used to display all records of program related documentation by author. The infopath group picker can display them delimited nicely when promoted to the form library, however the user needs to be able to search, sort and filter by individual ...

That worked great. Thank you very much, Jimmy!
The final working URL was:
concat("http://webapp/_vti_bin/listdata.svc/ProjectList?$filter=substringof('", ProjectSearch, "',", "ProjectIDAndTitle", ")")
Thanks again!
