If you are using the rich client, the contact selector will pull from your Outlook contacts. If your Outlook contacts show SharePoint contacts, then it should show those too.

Hi S.Jeeva,
There are so many options. You can use a dropdown with hours - that's easy. You don't need to create your own control. You can also do cool stuff like have start-stop buttons that automatically calculate the duration of time between clicks... let us know more info about your scenario first.
Cheers!

Hi Vura_1234,
Any string of XML can be submitted to DBXL Web Service. The Web Service is not InfoPath specific. We definitely use DBXL to submit our forms' metadata (examples: worflow, history, tags, resources, etc.). You will need to specify the DocType when you submit the XML (leaving it blank defaults to current doctype). In addition, you ...

Hi Vura,
The best practice is to use a Web Service because it abstracts the connection allowing the XML and/or the DB to change without republish or recompilation. No code in your form is required and the Web Service is the only viable solution for browser-based forms accessing a database when permissions are required.
The second best practice ...

Hi Chaula,
You know, you could use DBXL to map your XML to tables and then use QueryDB to filter it using the conditions you listed. It should work fine. Probably an hour to setup.
Thanks!

Glad to hear you got it working.
UDC files are the best practice if you have SharePoint. If you don't have SharePoint, you can still use UDC files but it's slightly more complicated.
Bottom line: using UDC files allows you to abstract the data connection which makes it no longer hardcoded in the InfoPath template.

Hi Sean SharePoint,
There might be a simpler way - just add error messages to the error board via code and display this in a debug view.
If that doesn't help you diagnose the problem I suggest calling Microsoft Support to get the skinny on debugging IPFS.
We have done this before, but we try to stay away from it. It's not an ...

Hi Jonathan,
You can get the processing instruction from your form's XML which should have the PublishURL href attribute containing the URL of your web page. Check out the following post and send me email if you can't get it working: http://www.infopathdev.com/files/folders/misc/entry30112.aspx

Hi JSherman and welcome,
Have you converted your Web Service data connection into a UDC connection? Can you try debugging this with the rich client first? Otherwise, I'm afraid we'd have to look at your Web Service and the form. Or, you could quickly install a free trial version of DBXL (Qdabra's Web Service) that will integrate your ...

Hi Simon,
Good question. No way that I know of to remove this.
Of course, my recommendation is just to filter the data so that you aren't getting a boatload of it... filtering on the server is a best practice. SharePoint's owssvr supports out-of-box static filtering for SharePoint data. If you need to parametrize the query (for ...
