This can be pretty complicated. It's not an easy task. But some creative use of pattern matching might give you what you want. You will need to research Regular Expressions to understand how to write your pattern. Good luck!

I should also state that the InsertAfter() call does a copy, not a move. So if your intent was to move the item and not just copy it, then you'll need to call DeleteSelf() on the oFromItem after you insert it into the To list.

Thanks Albert for jumping in with some answers!

The contact selector must be a custom control--it's not a standard InfoPath control and I'm not familiar with it.
You might needt contact the creator of the control to find out how to do what you are wanting to do.

In Vista, you go to Start | Network, and then click Network and Sharing Center. You can see there whether the connection is present.
I think XP has something similar.

Your code doesn't even compile:
Error 1 A local variable named 'oFromItem' is already defined in this scope FormCode.cs 45 28
Error 2 The name 'sFromItem' does not exist in the current context FormCode.cs 46 68
Error 3 A local variable named 'oToItem' is ...

I'm not sure it is possible. However, the view properties (double-click the view name) allows you to set the background color of the view to red if you want.

You can use the following article to help you along the way: http://www.infopathdev.com/blogs/greg/archive/2004/09/15/Use-Code-to-Determine-a-Rule-Condition.aspx
Since you will be using conditional formatting, you can skip the extra requirements needed to make this work with rule conditions.
Hope this helps!

You can do 2 things:
1. Use the Mail Envelope instead (which shows the To:, CC: etc, right in InfoPath):
Application.ActiveWindow.MailEnvelope.To = "Greg";
Application.ActiveWindow.MailEnvelope.Visible = true;
2. You can get the email data connection, set the field values, and the submit it via code.

This can sometimes happen if the node (element or attribute) is optional, and is set to not be present on creation of a new form (Tools | Default Values).
