I see now. Yup, re-applying the rules to all instances would indeed take time. If that's the case, is it possible for you to query the data first and hide that particular section before ticking the checkboxes?

We just upgraded to SharePoint 2013 and have found that any Infopath forms that are in document libraries (un-published forms) now open in InfoPath Designer by default instead of InfoPath Filler.
