Hi Franker,
Thanks for clarifying. Seems like your scenario is slightly different from what I had assumed. Might be just a simple rules sequencing issue. Have you looked at defining your rules in the Submit dialog? That might give you a slightly different experience. If you are using InfoPath's out-of-box Main Data Source connection to SQL ...

One idea would be to use the email submit option which allows submitting a form to SharePoint via email. Email can be configured to work with SharePoint browser forms. This will essentially add the forum from the user account configured to submit the email, i.e. anonymously.
I'm guessing there is a way to do this without the email approach ...

The User Profile service doesn't support enumerating everyone. You could take a look at Qdabra's Contact Selector which takes a substring and searches for all user aliases that match and returns them. Here's a link: http://www.qdabra.com/en/products/QdContactSelector.aspx. Disclaimer: Qdabra pays for this free forum.

Here's one different approach: save the forms to SQL and add a data view web part to SharePoint that filters the rows based on your criteria. You can use SharePoint Designer to configure the data view web part.
Here's another idea: create an InfoPath filter form that is a view on your SharePoint library (it's a dashboard). Use ...

You should be using a Web Service with a data driven mapping between your XML and SQL. Then, you can change the form's schema or the database schema without having to republish your form and without interrupting your end user's submit process. This is the best practice that Qdabra's DBXL uses to save organizations time and ...

Hi Fnork,
How does the old IP2003 form grab username info? Does it use the same GetUserProfileByName method? The IE settings for the intranet site where GetUserProfileByName resides must show local intranet and the InfoPath security should be domain trust. I'm assuming you have no code in your form.

Hi Mack247,
I'm guessing that the service isn't returning the subelements with the sample values you gave it when you configured the data connection wizard. Without a full result set, InfoPath can't infer a proper schema and that may be why you aren't seeing the subelements. Just a guess though, but try modifying the data ...

Hi Csiemantel,
Yes, you can call the InfoPath object model. If you're using InfoPath 2007, you probably already have the Visual Studio plugin. Anyway, the data adaptors can be created and submitted to via code. The other option would be to rewrite your Web service so it takes an XML string instead (see Qdabra's DBXL for an example of ...
