Hi,
The rules do not apply to the View but to the Fields in the view. If you have the same field in 2 views, then the rules apply to both the fields. Now its up to you to duplicate the field or modify your form. This is my opinion.
I wonder, why no experts reply to questions on InfoPath Dev forum even though there are many here.

I have a form that submits an email. The form itself works fine. It is the email that I am having a problem with. I have fields on the email and I do not want the recipient of the email to be able to click (highlight and the box show up around it) on the textbox, dropdown, etc.

Never fear, seems to be working now. Think it must have been case sensitive and perhaps I was using lower case v on Value. It now works perfectly on my list form. Thanks for the resource.

I have 10000 records in my sharepoint list. I am trying to access this list as a secordary connection into an infopath form. But getting threshold error. If the threshold is increased will it affect server performance to while reading the list from infopath form? will it consume network resources adversly?

Typical, figure it out after i post :P
For anyone else i created a new field and added username() as the default value, then used the tips here to make it into just the email address.

If you are looking at 3rd party PDF Converters aimed at InfoPath, then have a look at the Muhimbi PDF Converter for SharePoint or the generic Muhimbi PDF Converter Services.
Allows the InfoPath View(s) to be selected and even converts attachments.
Note that I have worked on this product, so consider me biased.
