Hi Drake,
Best practices:
Filter your ShP list so you only pull down only the Project IDs that you want (pulling down everything could result in a delay when you open the form)
Connect your Project ID dropdown to the secondary data source that is querying your ShP list and getting those filtered values
Filter your Site Number dropdown ...

Hi Paradisp and welcome,
We would have to look at the data connections in your form template. I assume you are using a browser-based form. You should look at the data connections for clues as to why it's failing and then look at your ShP server log files for InfoPath Form Services. If you are not using browser forms, it's most likely a ...

Hi Howard,
I know this is not the answer you are looking for, but let's just short-circuit the discussion (and your solution) and jump to the best practice: you should use a Web Service to connect with SQL. Lots of reasons. Here's a blog post with some analysis: ...

Hi BJ,
I'm not sure if SharePoint's GetUserProfile Web service allows for enumeration of members of a group, but Qdabra's Active Directory Web Service (ADWS) does. ADWS comes with the free trial of DBXL. You could install that and check it out. Take a look at Mel's blog for info on how to use it. ...

You could also ...

Hi WayneM and welcome!

InfoPath will infer a schema from the file which will allow you to open the XML file in the designer and edit it. There are some gotchas here since schema inference isn't an exact science. In particular, if your sample XML ...

To sign an InfoPath form (XML) Digital Certificates need to be issued to each user in your organization using the Certificate Authority app. When you sign form templates (XSNs) for use in Full Trust forms, you sign the XSN with a code-signing certificate that you generate on a machine or buy from a secure certificate vendor, like Godaddy. ...

How many fields are in your form? Can you break up the business process into multiple forms?

Hi Catharine,
I do agree that the InfoPath crash could be leaving them locked but the lock should time out after 10 minutes (both for SharePoint and DBXL). Since the forms open fine from SharePoint, it's a DBXL lock that you have. It may be that your code - which is programmatically opening the forms from DBXL's Web methods - is trying ...
