Please try the attached template, which uses JScript to store [current date + 3 days] in one of the form's field when the form loads. To avoid cluttering the form's main data source, you may want to store the value in a secondary data source, though that would be a bit more complicated. Here is the JScript I used, for ...

You can access the secondary data sources by using the DataSources collection, like this:
DataSources["nameOfSource"]
So if I wanted to create an XPathNavigator to a data source called Weevils, I would use:
DataSources["Weevils"].CreateNavigator()
I'm not sure what to say for your second question. I ...

If you don't mind limiting your forms to InfoPath 2007, you can use the handy addDays() function:
addDays(today(), 3)
If not, you can use code to generate and store the value in a field where you can reference it at any time.
Which way do you prefer?

It doesn't seem like you can use a formula to set the values of radio buttons, but what you can do is give the radio buttons simple values (like 1, 2, 3), and then use rules to set the value in another field depending on which one is selected. This should give you some more flexibility.
Also, is there any difference ever, between ".InnerXml" and ".Value"?
Sure is. For XML elements, Value contains all the ordinary text between a node's starting and ending tag, and InnerXml contains everything between a node's starting and ending tag.
So if I have ...

The only way I can seem to reproduce that particular error is if I do SetValue("") directly on root (i.e. the object returned from MainDataSource.CreateNavigator() ). Did you use Hilary's code exactly the way it is or did you modify it somehow?

DBXL sounds like just what you're looking for. You can use it to extract data from the XML and into a database as the forms are submitted, and then use Excel's database-querying functionality to process the data whenever you like.
Updating the XML->DB mapping after the forms are submitted (e.g. to extract more data out into new ...

The my:group2 part is not generic, but in almost all cases, there is only one repeating node in a given repeating section. Is that not the case in your form?
-
As Hilary already said, the current node can be accessed by e.Source. Here's code for moving an element up within its section. I'll let you figure out the down version:
public void CTRL5_5_Clicked(object sender, ClickedEventArgs ...

Hey Hilary,
That code actually won't work when September 1st is a
Sunday, as it will calculate the first Monday as September 9th. The
following is based off your code and should do the trick:
//create a variable for the first Monday
