Hello,
I'd like to address the first issue you bring up. The problem is that the email you're sending contains an XML generated BEFORE submitting to DBXL. This means that the xml has no information about the DBXL::DocID, so it will always assume it's "new" and submit as new to DBXL.
It sounds like you could benefit from ...

I'm sorry to hear about this issue. When creating a SharePoint mapping each server may have its own set up and each scenario needs to be investigated to find the cause. I will start by asking for the following:
1. Are SharePoint and DBXL installed on the same machine/same site?

Usually all forms have values that are set on the first submit, for example, SubmittedDate or Status. You could have sections that hide/show depending on ...

Hello,
qRules is a package developed by Qdabra which includes various functions (commands) that can be used in InfoPath forms. The links I provided above include a free trial download and documentation for your scenario.
If you did not want to use qRules, then you would need to write your own code for this.
Good luck!

Hello,You can create a SharePoint list using specific fields from the form. You could use the qRules command SubmitToSharepointList to do this. There is more info about this on our blog.Good luck!

Designing a form in InfoPath 2010 and publishing it for use in MOSS 2007 should be entirely possible. Can you provide more details concerning the integration problems you have found?
-
Hi Stuart,
qRules v2.2 and newer allow integration with custom code.
