Well, SharePoint document IDs are bad because they don't migrate to other systems. I strongly recommend using a GUID or a unique Key that you construct in the form's logic on submit. We used DocIDs for many years and finally adopted a policy of using Keys for all of our solutions. They're easy to create and they are better than DocIDs ...

Hi Kerrie,
No problem! Sorry for being so terse in my first reply. Can you attach your XSN form to this thread and maybe a screenshot with some mark up in Paint Brush showing what you want it to do?

Yes, you can receive form data for version 2 even if the latest version is version 5.
Here's a doc that describes the URL format: http://www.infopathdev.com/files/folders/other_topics/entry56287.aspx
There are a couple other docs related to history. Search on DBXL History to find them.
One good technique is to have the history section ...

Hi Donna,
If you go to Tools->Data Connections and click Modify on the data connection that has the strings you want to reuse, you should be able to next through the dialog. When you get to the one that specifies the sample values, just double click the row and you should be able to copy it out.

Hi Kerrie,
If one line is working but two are not, it's probably because you aren't using the xpath axis correctly in your rule comparisons functions. Search this site for Current Preceding-Sibling Axis Greg Collins and you should find Greg's blog post where he explains these concepts.
Good luck!

Hi Keith,
Mel Balsamo did a nice blog of the Show-Hide technique using an XTP. You can even download the XTP for free. Search her blog for details.
Happy trails,

Does your Web Service query SAP? Microsoft created a special toolkit for InfoPath and SAP several years ago. You should try to Google it. I forget the code name.

Hi Nasser,
You might be able to manually modify the view's XSL source (File->Save As Source) but I've never seen it done. Probably can't do it, but worth a look in the XSLT.
Happy trails,

You'll need to configure BCS in the form or use a Web Service. The problem is that InfoPath Forms Services (IPFS) is running on the server in the context of the server and the user is accessing the browser in a different context. You could configure IPFS to have total access to the database but that's a security hole. You'll need to ...
