Hi, it seems like the form template can't connect to the old data sources (which is likely because of the upgrade).
We can offer assistance on this if you like, we provide ad-hoc support for these kinds of issues. If you send me a private message I can explain your options for purchasing some support to figure this out.

I would guess then that you need to republish the InfoPath template (XSN) after you fix up the data connections in the form that are incorrect.
Have you tried to do that yet?

Have you tried re-linking the documents in the library via SharePoint?
There is a way in the library settings to re-link. This should update the XML's to point to the right template location.

Hi, you will need to use InfoPath to do this and you can do this using InfoPath "User Roles".
Have you looked at implementing user roles already to handle the permissions. The only way to get thd dependent drop down list boxes will be with InfoPath, you can't do that with SharePoint 2007 lists.

Hi, You could use “FormatDate” in our qRules product to return just the month to an additional field, and then base a sum expression on that with a filtered XPath…
You could also use a formula to get just the month part of the date But qRules is easier to do this with.

Hi,
Have you taken a look at our qRules tool? http://www.qdabra.com/en/products/qRules.aspx
qRules has a number of commands designed to work with tables and handle repeating tables (inserting data into etc).
While you can do what you need to do with custom code qRules most likely would save you a ton compared to doing it yourself.

Have you read this blog post yet from Matt?

If you are using SharePoint 2010 the IP team has a nice blog about the differences:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/infopath/archive/2010/04/22/comparing-list-and-form-library-forms.aspx
Some of this applies to SharePoint 2007 but not all of it.

I think you need to use InfoPath 2007 in order to enable property demotion in SharePoint. If you use InfoPath 2007 designer you should be able to change the columns to be editable in SharePoint. By default they are not editable in SharePoint unless you enable it when you publish your template.
