Hi Eric and welcome,
You can add a rule to the field that sets the field's value to the concat of the field and some other text. The Fx button will let you insert a concat function. From that you can double click to insert the field and the other text. Best of luck!

InfoPath allows you to Save As Source Files. To recab, you can just right-click and design the manifest.xsf file. It will save the solution as an XSN, i.e. CAB file again. No checksum is calculated, but some edits won't roundtrip. To ensure roundtripping, wrap the change in xdPreserve. Search for that on this site to learn more. Best of luck!

Please search the Microsoft Support site for a Knowledge Base article. This sounds like a bug.

Assuming you have an association key in your InfoPath forms, you can create links to the SOP documents and have people open and print them. That's a bit manual but would be really simple.
You could also programmatically launch Word and Print through InfoPath. That will require Full Trust to do but you'd be able to automate it more. We can ...

Hi Maureen,
Yes, we have a free trial of one that you can look at. I'm not trying to sell you that, but it was the first thing we built when we left Microsoft - basically, because everyone needs it. We sell these inexpensive "accelerators" as a way to defray cost of the forum and other development work that we are doing. We have ...

Can you add a link to the file in the form and open it that way?
If not, can you please paste in the Japanese text before and after? Could be an encoding issue with the form or a bug in InfoPath.
Anyway, best practice is to use links that point to files on SharePoint so that you don't have to download a huge file as part of your XML payload ...

Hi Avanburen,
You should be using some kind of a data-driven Web service for this. The tight coupling to a database is going to cause you a lot of pain down the road.
Make sure the XML you are opening was created with the new version of the form. If not, that could be causing a problem. Did the schema change when you added the custom events? If ...

You can pass parameters to Infopath and then use those parameters to concatenate to the URL that you click back to. Some extra work to set this up, but not too bad.
Best of luck,

Are you saving it as InfoPath 2010 Filler? If so, add a new data connection and choose receive and see if REST Web Service shows up as an option. If you are choosing that and you still have a problem, it's probably a bug.
