• Re: Submitting an incomplete form.

I field can become disabled for several reasons. I was referring to conditional formatting which allows you to disable a control. Enabling that control is simply a matter of the condition failing, and thus NOT disabling the control. Another reason a control can get disabled is if the field it is supposed to be bound to does not exist -- such as ...

  • Re: Submitting an incomplete form.

If I understand you correctly, you want to be able to choose an employee from dropdownlist2-4 if and only if there is a selection in dropdownlist1. Otherwise you want them to be disabled. If this is the case, then you need to set you conditional formatting for dropdownlist2-4 to disabled if dropdownlist1 is blank. If you want further to make it ...

  • Re: Help!

I'm not sure what you had in mind for wanting to access the schema directly, but it is possible. You will be working with a local copy of the schema and so any changes you make will not be affecting your form... but this is a good thing as changing your schema live would likely have disasterous results. Here's the code to get access to you ...

  • Re: datasource trusting issue.

I believe you can solve this by adding the sites to your Internet Explorer Trusted Sites. From Internet Explorer, choose Internet Options from the Tools menu. On the Security tab, select Trusted Sites, and then click Sites. Add your site here. Let me know if that does the trick. Greg Collins [InfoPath MVP]

  • Prevent InfoPath From Autogenerating a Default Namespace Prefix

If you use a custom schema for your InfoPath form that has a target namespace with no prefix defined, InfoPath will create a default prefix for you following the pattern of: ns1, ns2, . . . nsn. The "ns1" prefix that InfoPath generates just stands for generic "namespace 1". Here's what a schema root node looks like that ...

  • Re: Dynamic Data source results?

Sounds like you have two drop-down lists in your view, and that when you select a value in the To_Currency drop-down list, you want to have your From_Currency drop-down list filtered to only show a specific list based on your previous selection. Is that accurate? If so, then you should just be able to add a filter to the From_Currency drop-down ...

  • Re: Losing the rules bug

The bug was supposed to be fixed as part of SP1, and indeed it appeared to be fixed for a while. But I, and several others have since encountered it numerous times. Microsoft knows that this bug is still present, but at this point they have been unable to track down repro steps, as have I. If you or anyone else reading, who have experienced this ...

  • Re: SQLServer uniqueid columns

You should be able to hack the schema created for your database connection and change the field to optional. If you ever update your data connection you will need to do this again. Greg Collins [InfoPath MVP]

  • Re: auto assign Digital Signature?

You need access to a certificate authority. I believe that if you have your own domain controller, or access to one, that you can access the certificate authority from there and create a digitial certificate of your own. You should be able to find help on this in the Windows Server online help or on Google Groups. Greg Collins [InfoPath MVP]

  • Re: auto assign Digital Signature?

I am not personally aware of a way to do it automatically. Signing is typically a user function, and requires user action. That doesn't mean that there isn't a way to do it... I'm just not aware of one. Greg Collins [InfoPath MVP]
