There are no rules following that data connection. 'create_pdf' appears to be of type 'Retrieve Data'. Additionally, I'm unable to inspect the contents of the data connection. We only have access to the SOAP link containing the 'WSDL' file, which provides only the structure. I also attempted to view the data by clicking ...

Really hard to guess, I'm afraid. I'm guessing the fields being set are in the "create_pdfs" connection? So that data is sent to the Oracle server? I mean - it could be that data connection that does something - are there any rules after the query to that data connection?

Hi Hilary,
Thanks for your update. The form we're reviewing is fragmented across our drive, as it was entirely developed and published by the previous employee and is currently live. Now, we need to implement a change and we had to collect all the required info to perform changes. But this hardcoded text alone seems to be no where.

You might want to check the main data source - check if any fields have a default value set? I'm guessing there is code in the form that generates the PDF - do you have access to the source code? If not, can you attach the form in a reply under the options tab? If you do that I can give it a quick check.

Hi, Logan - glad I could be of help. I don't know of any way to add non-selectable text (i.e. a subheading sort of thing) to a multi-select I'm afraid - that would have been a nice workaround!

Hi Hilary,
Thanks so much for taking a look! This looks like it could be a solid workaround. I'll give it a try and see if the business prefers it over my other solution, which would be to append the Department name to each available team option and then sort them alphabetically in one long multi-select list box.
From your knowledge, is ...

Ick. So I quickly can reproduce the issue you experience in a sample form. One thought I had was to turn the multi-select into a repeating table with a dropdown and conditional formatting to show / hide the correct items in the correct area, but look at this GIF, you'll see I ran into challenges with the "blank" option.

Hello All!
My organization is currently using a combo of InfoPath 2013 & SharePoint 2016 (I know... very dated and soon to be unsupported, but all I have to work with unfortunately). I've been building forms for a while and have been able to work around many of the numerous quirks of InfoPath; however, I've hit a wall with one of ...

No need to also PM me, I try to check the forum regularly. See attached - just add a repeating table or section and then add the file attachment field inside the repeating group or table.
