I'm sorry to hear you're having so much trouble. When you click on the details of the error, what does it say? Have you tried adding the site in Internet options > Security > Local Intranet?

It might be possible with code, but I'm not sure. And I've never done this with InfoPath. If they want the items to show, why not use a list box instead?

Sorry I'm a little confused when you said "I need the data source to only contain two decimals and not just the view of the datasource". The value of your text box in the view should be the same thing stored as value in your data source, no?
