just did this. removed IP 2007 and created a brand new form in IP 2010 - the issue is still there.

right I just got someone in IT to test the template. He has only IP 2010 on his machine and he also had the same issue.  

I see. The rest of office is 2010. I only chose to design it in IP 2007 because our SharePoint is 2007 and I thought it would not be compatible with IP 2010.

Yes got 2010 and 2007 on same machine and I have tried creating a brand new form in 2010 with ContactSelector, but still experience the same issue.

yes I have tried it in both versions. Havent tried it on a different machine yet, as currently I'm only one who has got IP. No in IP 2010 you dont have to add it as its already there, but when you right click the control and choose Properties; there suppose to be a SharePoint Server tab according to instructions in the above link. Thanks very much. I have attached it. I have used InfoPath Designer 2010 but saved it in 2007 format.  I have even created the Context.xml secondary data source, but I dont think this is needed as Im publishing it on SharePoint and its in web enabled. Please let me know if you need any other info.

Any ideas? Getting a little desperate :(
