• Re: exact match vs "like" (or begins with)

I have an assets table. I want the people to be able to do a search on an asset to see if it's already in or not. It can't be an "exact match" type of search because people could type it in a bit different. So I want to let them do a search like select asset_name from assets ...

  • exact match vs "like" (or begins with)

I thought I saw, somewhere, code that lets a person do a search within an infopath form that would be a "like" or "begins with" search, instead of an "exact match" search that infopath does by default when connected to a database. Anyone know? Thanks!

  • Re: defaulted views

Thanks! Email sent! ps - it does seem odd to me that it appears to have it's own default view it goes to, overriding what is marked as default. Kind of a pain. lol

  • Re: Alternate line shading in repeating table

thanks! The formula method I would normally use in my web development (php, cold fusion, lasso) would be to do a row_number() mod 2. But, we don't have the operator "mod" available it seems. That makes it difficult.

Clay, I'm familiar with setting the "Default" view in the task pane. This, however, doesn't seem to hold true when you create a form from a database. It seems to "over ride" that. I have done tests on 4 different forms now, creating from scratch. It doesn't take the "default" ...

  • defaulted views

When connected to a database and running a query, is there a way to choose which "view" the query results goes to? It seems to always go to whatever is marked as the "default". Also, when you open the form connected to a database, it seems to have designated one view as what it'll open to, no ...

  • sharepoint "numbers" come in as "decimal"

I have columns setup in sharepoint as a type "number". I set the "number of decimal places" to be 0. However, when the column value is brought into Infopath, it comes in as a decimal number with several decimal percision 0's. ex 10 comes into sharepoint as 10.00000000. This ...

  • Re: Many to One (error), One to Many

wow - thanks! I never would have thought it would require sample data! Doing that seems to have worked! Seems like they should come up with a better message than saying a many-to-one relationship exists when there is no data for it to understand. Can data be submitted to both the sql database and sharepoint ...

  • Many to One (error), One to Many

I have a form with an "asset" that can have multiple "components". Thus, I have a repeating section for components. I want this to dump into a database. Similar to having an invoice with multiple items purchased. When I did the form creation, I selected and Access database. One table is the main table ...
