• Re: Can't filter merged fields in SharePoint 2003

Hi Patrick, Thanks for the detailed explanation. Before I continue, let me list the constraints that I have to work with: I don't have access to IT resources, so unfortunately setting up a SQL server is not feasible. I'm pretty much stuck with a solution using InfoPath 2003 and SharePoint 2003. I don't have a budget to purchase ...

  • Possible sorting bug in SharePoint 2003

Hello, I have a form library that has a bunch of forms and one Archive subfolder in it. Currently the Archive folder is at the bottom of the list by default. I'm trying to configure the view such that the Archive folder is at the top by default. When I manually sort descending by Type (the icon column), I was able to get the folder to show at ...

  • Re: Can't filter merged fields in SharePoint 2003

Hi Clay, I will give you a concrete example... In my InfoPath 2003 form I have two repeating controls: A 'Books' field that uses a bulleted list control to allow users to list books they own. A 'Genres' drop-down list in a repeating section that allows users to select one or more genres. I have a data connection to ...

  • Can't filter merged fields in SharePoint 2003

Hello, I've stumbled upon a BIG issue after publishing my InfoPath 2003 form to SharePoint: repeating InfoPath fields that have been merged cannot be filtered in SharePoint! Aside from creating more hidden fields in InfoPath, does anyone know of a way to get around this issue? Thanks, Tom

  • Re: Annoying section selection
If, however, you place Group2 inside a section bound to Group1, then the commands will bubble up to Group1 and stop there. The Root section will no longer turn blue when clicked on. This must be done consistently for each repeating section/table and optional table.
Hi Greg, I tried and tried, but ...

  • Re: InfoPath 2003 limitations ?

I was finally able to resolve #2 by extracting the source files (File menu / Extra Form Files) and modifying view1.xsl in the following ways: Manually added <option>Select...</option> below the <select> tag. Removed an extra <option/> tag that was somehow introduced into the code (InfoPath 2003 bug?) that is creating ...

  • re: Populate a Drop-Down List Box via Code

On a related note, I noticed that when you populate a drop-down list with a data connection from a SharePoint form library, the first item of the drop-down list is always empty. Is there a way, through code or other means, to make the first item display "Select..."?
Hi again Easiest way is to double click on the control for the drop-down box and go into the "Advanced" tab. Then add the placeholder Select... It will not appear in the list but will remain their until something is selected.
Hi Adam, I just checked the drop-down box ...
Hey Tom. Is the calculated field in your default view? The data connection does not return all fields only what is in the view. If a field is not in it you will not get it in your secondary dom. Just wanted to check.
Hi Clay, Yes, the calculated "Full Name" field is in the default ...

  • Re: InfoPath 2003 limitations ?

Hi Adam, I don't have my work PC here, but I will try your suggestion for #2 on Monday. Regarding #1, the concatenation is already done on the SharePoint side (via a calculated field that concatentates First Name and Last Name), but the calculated field is not included in the data connection that is used to populate the droplist. It seems ...
