I guess I forgot to mention that I am running InfoPath 2007 in the 2003 object model. I am unaware of an OpenFileFromPackage function in 2003 OM. Is there such a beast? Thanks again! Posted to Code (Forum) by blackhawk on 06-16-2010 Getting structure of web service I have a web service function in a secondary data source that returns no rows of data, but I want to add a row to the data source result set programmatically using the structure that InfoPath sees when it queries the WSDL. It would be easy if it returned a row, but since nothing comes back, I have no data to reference. ... Posted to Code (Forum) by blackhawk on 06-16-2010 Using 2003 Compatible C# Code in VS2008 I have found similar postings to people having this problem, but never did I find a solution. It seems that with VS2008, if you create a 2007 InfoPath project, remove the code, and try to use C# (2003 Compatible) object model, it creates 6 compiler errors. Complaining that it cannot find type or namespace 'VisualStudio' nor ... Posted to General (Forum) by blackhawk on 01-27-2010 Re: HELP! WebService Data Source via Integrated Login Well it was worth a try! And I do *greatly* appreciate you taking the time to chime in! Posted to Web Services (Forum) by blackhawk on 06-18-2009 Re: HELP! WebService Data Source via Integrated Login I am using pure InfoPath native application (rich client) to access a web service as a data source. There is no sharepoint involved. From all of the research I have been doing, the client application is responsible for passing credentials to the web service. I am building a windows form application to confirm this, ... Posted to Web Services (Forum) by blackhawk on 06-18-2009 HELP! WebService Data Source via Integrated Login I am trying to connect an InfoPath 2007 form to a web service that requires integrated login. If I run the InfoPath form from the server, I can connect to the data source. But, if I go to another machine on the domain it doesn't work. From what I can tell, it appears that InfoPath is not passing client credentials to the web ... Posted to Web Services (Forum) by blackhawk on 06-18-2009 Re: Convert Secondary to Primary Data Source Well, I found that by adding a query tag in the manifest.xsf it will make it think that there is a primary data source. However, once you use the convert tool it changes the namespace and all the objects get unbound. Effectivley requiring me to re-build the form again. I am working on trying to update the namespaces ... Posted to Data Connections (Forum) by blackhawk on 03-31-2009 Re: Convert Secondary to Primary Data Source Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately since it was created as a blank form, the convert main data source does not give me the option to select a web service. That said, however, if I can trick the form into thinking that it was originally created with a web service, then perhaps I can use the convert main data ... Posted to Data Connections (Forum) by blackhawk on 03-31-2009 Convert Secondary to Primary Data Source Ok, I screwed up. I went and built an InfoPath form using a number of web services and it has a tremendous amount of formatting and rules and views. I forgot that I was going to require a repeating table with "insert item" until I nearly finished it when it dawned on me. In other words, I ... Posted to Data Connections (Forum) by blackhawk on 03-30-2009 Re: Data validation on secondary data sources Well, the way around it is to enable the "Data Validation" button! It seems as though secondary data sources are being used in ways that the developers did not originally expect, but I don't see why it would be such a big issue to make that available. It sure would save me lots of time. Anyway, I appreciate your ...
