  • Re: How to run .exe file from code?

Hey, Here is another one that creates a simple temporary text file and then displays it in Notepad from a button in the form template. Sub btnCreateTempFile_OnClick(eventObj) ' Write your code here Const iTempFolder = 2 Dim oFS, oTempFolder, sFile, oTempFile, wshShell Dim sRun, sTemp Set oFS = ...

  • Re: Digital Certificates

Hey, Do you have desktop admins that can write some scripting when the user logs into the PC? That is what we did....the digital certificate needs to be installed per user for the machine. It actually creates about 10 registry entries (each entry will be dependent on the certificate). If you admins can capture the digitial certificate ...

Hey, This is a quick example to run the calculator program from a button in InfoPath via VbScript: Sub btnCalc_OnClick(eventObj) ' Write your code here Dim wshShell Set wshShell = Createobject(''WScript.Shell'') wshShell.Run ''calc'' wshShell.AppActivate ''Calculator'' End Sub Hope that helps, MB

  • Re: tut for defining buttons and actions

Hey, Check out Professional InfoPath 2003 published by Wrox. They have a small section on buttons in the toolbar for added functionality to the form. If you are merely looking to add a button on the form template, select the button from the controls and add it to your template. In the button properites, the ''functionality'' behind the button ...

  • Re: Code and Object Required

Hey, I could send you an XSN....since it is occurring on all 300 XSNs. You are correct in that I have never set a namespace in code. I am doing all the programming via the script.vbs file that is created by InfoPath. It is in this file that Microsoft creates the namespace and what Microsoft creates is not correct. The schemas are not created ...

  • Re: Get first letter of a field

Hey, You can use the substring function to parse the first letter....something like concat(substring(Firstname,1,1),LastName,''@mydomain.com'') The syntax may not be 100% correct. MB

  • Re: Code and Object Required

Hey again, Since I have not heard from any one of the above issue......perhaps someone can explain to me why Microsoft is appending a namespace with a Date/Time. In April I created a form - called 4668. At the time I created the form, the ''xmlns:my'' namespace was: xmlns:my=''http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/infopath/2003/myXSD'' In Aug, I ...

  • Re: Code and Object Required

Hey, My Xpath is not wrong! The code work in more than 30 forms! And SEQNUM is always directly under the main data source. If you read my post carefully.....the issue is with the namespace and determining which namespace is incorrect. From rules, the form has no issue with reading the values of the main datasource element. From code (where ...

  • Re: Using Set command in vbscript

Hey, I did the following on a training form so that the user could click a button and the data would be populated in the field or removed from the field. Not sure if it will help you... All code is VBScript... Sub ClearDataFields_OnClick() 'Write your code here PopDefaults xDocument.view.name, True End Sub Sub ...

  • Code and Object Required

Hey, This has been driving me nuts for some time. And, after examining each file within the XSN, I can fix the problem but the ''fix'' is not always the same. I am hoping that one of you can shed some light as to why I am having to do the following.... Background Information: InfoPath 2003 - SP2; script language = VBScript In all 300+ forms, ...
