• Re: Close Infopath after submit does not work.

Yeah! I posted on the Microsoft Dev forum a little bit of knowledge I didn't know previously. Here's how I implemented it: 1. I diagrammed the worklfow and identified five states of processing. 2. I created all my fields and layout, placing them in Sections related to each state of processing. 3. I coded each of the sections with ...

  • Workflow almost done!

I have my InfoPath 2003 workflow form almost done, which is amazing since I'm clueless about Infopath programming. I need two more pieces: 1. Need code to Save. I have a Save and Close button. If the user clicks it, the form should be saved back to the forms library (overwrite without prompts) from where it came and the form is closed. I got ...

Patrick: Here is the link to InformIT. http://safari.informit.com/. It's a very cool service. For $19.95 I have full access to all the content in their library, which includes many of the major IT publishers. I have up to 10 books on my bookshelf at a time. I can bookmark, notate, and print. As an IT consultant and with the pace of change in ...

  • Re: Closing InfoPath with Code

My data connections are already set up. What I need to know is how to submit to those connections through code. The code I pasted in the original post has the code I'm needing to modify. Thanks for your help!

That submits for me. I wonder if you have a number of data connections, which one it uses by default? I haven't attempted it in the current form I'm working on that has six (count 'em 6!) data connections. It's a workflow solution with multiple email submits. I hope someone here can help us with a solution. I guess 2007 will help with this, ...

  • Closing InfoPath with Code

Hello: I have the following code from the good people on the InfoPath Microsoft forum: { if (XDocument.Errors.Count > 0) {XDocument.UI.Alert(''Required information is missing as indicated by the red asterisk(s).'') ; return; } try { XDocument.Submit() ...

  • Re: Active Directory

Patrick I would pay you $20 in a heartbeat for a solution that would retrieve the logged in user's SAM name, email address, and account id. The problem is we have a bureaucratic quagmire and I have no access to the servers to install a Web service. The only control I have is at my form level and what I can get ''from'' Sharepoint. I'm using ...

ilse: Here is the code I got from the good people on the Microsoft forum. Put this in in the code of a submit button. It first checks to be sure all required fields have values. It then attempts to submit. What I'm waiting for is a way to specify which data connection to submit to. Then, this code will be perfect for me. In the meantime, ...

  • Re: Form ID

Maxim: Can you explain how you use that onload event to generate a unique ID. I'm not a programmer, but can muddle my way through with some guidance. Thanks!

  • Re: Form ID

Since I don't have access to the Sharepoint Web server to install a Web Service, I'm thinking merddyin's solution is a good idea. The problem with implementing it in my situation is that the FormID is not generated until AFTER the form is submitted, so how do you use it as part of the form name when submitting?
