Hilary, Thank you for the reply. There are no rules on the field.  I don't know the difference between a filler and browser form.

I figured it out.  The columns inquestion were not part of the default view.  It didn't not appear as though I could change them to appear in the default view so I had to recreate them.

I'm new to Infopath forms creation...
