I removed the rules from the button and added: xdXDocument:GetDOM(''VesselDesc'')/dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields/d:VesselDesc/@Name[../@VesselDescID = current()/../@VesselDescID] to the text box value property and it works fine. Brian
