 Hi, The rules do not apply to the View but to the Fields in the view. If you have the same field in 2 views, then the rules apply to both the fields. Now its up to you to duplicate the field or modify your form. This is my opinion. I wonder, why no experts reply to questions on InfoPath Dev forum even though there are many here.

 Data connections that are used to Display the fields, cannot be used to update the field as well. You should try some workaround. You might have to place the Choice field in the Edit Form, and use Data connection to display already entered details. Hope it helps.

 No Don, I'm not trying to do this. I was asking why cant mmenzie do this instead of modifying his submit option. Is he sending the email from the form or using SPD workflow? I was just trying to get more details around his issue and may be the option of using Created By field solves his issue. But he never replied.

 Yes, you can copy the values to another column using InfoPath or SharePoint designer workflow. From InfoPath, click on Data > Submit Options. Select Perform custom action using rules > click Ok.
