• Re: Any ideas on how to created a Weekly TimSheet

Start looking into Repeating Tables and Repeating Sections . These will become your best friend for a design like this. In fact, one of the first intro videos that I saw of to how to create Repeating Tables was a demo of a timesheet form, IIRC.

  • Re: condition for people picker in repeating table

Is this form connected/publishing to SharePoint? If so, it sounds like you need to do some "SharePoint Designer-like" logic in your InfoPath form. Well, it's quite a bit different from SP Designer, in that you'll have to setup a data connection to get the current user for your logic condition. Refer to this article for how to do ...

  • Re: Half of my form gets killed after saving and closing

Thanks for the support on this Hilary, it helped me get through it by trying every route. I hope it does too, if not just to fill in the gaps on the error message since there's not much out there about it. I wonder what caused it, though. At least I know what to do if it happens again!

  • Form's scroll bar jumps without warning when doing an Undo, Cut/Paste, Clicking outside section, etc.

I have a form that is pretty large in length so there is a long amount of real estate to be traveled with the scroll bar. As such, I want to keep my place when working on certain sections in this form. Unfortunately, whenever I cut, paste, switch views, click outside of the immediate section I'm in, do a ctrl+z undo, or generally do anything ...

  • Re: Half of my form gets killed after saving and closing

I closed the form and tried publishing again, this time the errors flag in Design Checker. You may be thinking, "how is this related to the lost sections of the form"? Well, the sections that have errors flagged about the Multiple Nested Section Types are the same sections that were unceremoniously deleted by InfoPath. Unfortunately on ...

  • Re: Half of my form gets killed after saving and closing

I have an update on this. I increased the timeout length on Sharepoint's web.config file, and now when I try to publish this form I see a more informative error message: "Multiple nested section types are not supported by Infopath Forms Services". This must be the cause of the problems. This is also discussed with some possible ...

  • Re: Half of my form gets killed after saving and closing

Sorry Hilary, I'd like to send it to get to the bottom of this, but I don't think I'm allowed to send out some of the information in this form. I think I'm looking at just going back to a working version and building it back from there. What I'd like to know is why this might happen, i.e. if there are constaints on the ...

  • Re: Half of my form gets killed after saving and closing

Good to know I'm not alone in this :) But I'm not sure recreating the whole form is an option, considering the several months I've already spent on it. Do you mean that this would be caused by InfoPath glitching out because of the amount of content in the form? Sure seems like that! I am okay from going back to a starting point ...

  • Half of my form gets killed after saving and closing

The form I have been working on has increased to a massive size, 200+ fields with multiple rules on each field. Well, eventually my form has decided not to publish anymore, with the message "This form can only be opened in InfoPath filler". Due to this I saved and closed it, hoping it would publish after I restarted InfoPath. This turned ...

  • Re: Rule not running for a form connected to a Sharepoint form library. Possible to debug?

I was able to fix it by doing the following: 1. Ensure that "Include data for the active form only" was checked (I had to separate this field into another data connection because that box could not be checked for another field I was using), and 2. Ensure that in the rule I was selecting from the "dataFields" folder under ...
