• Re: Copy SharePoint List Values to InfoPath Repeating Section Fields - Formula Error

The secondary data source is the ViewOptions XML that the documentation has me create. I can try using that data source for the count field or I could manually add a field called Count to the main data source but I was just trying to follow along completely with the manual ...

Thanks; I'm in IP2010 and I don't see any choice in the UI to add a filter. I just typed it in manually. As a follow up, when I get to the next step, Decrement Count (page 23), it shows a field named Count under the Main data source but I don't have this. I assume this is created in the steps on pages ...

That validated fine; thank you! I don't know XML but is there a very brief explanation you could give me as to why that works but the other one doesn't? How does it know that the last part comes from the SP List connection and not some other field named ID? Thanks!

  • Copy SharePoint List Values to InfoPath Repeating Section Fields - Formula Error

OK; I'm starting a new post as I'm trying this method now. I have been going through the instructions and I'm getting stuck on page 14/15 where we need a rule to set the ID. I have entered the formula: SharePointListItem_RW[number(Count)]/ID as well as SharePointListItem_RW[number(Count)]/@ID Where ...

Thanks! Before I give this a try, will it also work for a repeating table (as opposed to the repeating section in the pdf)?

  • Re: Updating Filterable SP List

I have been having intermittent success, However, ultimately for my project I think the issue I am having is that I can't map to the data that I originally pull over from SharePoint. In my original form I create a repeating table by dragging over the Secondary dataFields node. This populates the table with the sharepoint list ...

  • Re: Updating Filterable SP List

Well I started over with the simplest form I could think of. I wanted to try it without worrying about populating the grid from sharepoint and only writing to it. I created a new list with Name and Amount. I went through the steps, previewed the form and typed in "Dave" and "5000" and clicked submit. A ...

I'll definitely read them now. I'm brand new to all of this and sometimes just searching returns so many items that don't apply. Thanks!

  • Re: Updating Filterable SP List

I guess the main concise question is about populating a repeating table from a SP list and then allowing the user to update and submit changes. In the documentation it discussed being able to update a row in a list by typing in the ID from the list but no one is going to know the ID of a row. I would like to see the actual list ...

  • Updating Filterable SP List

Hello all- I apologize for basic questions. I'm new to Infopath and I am not a programmer but I can usually follow along and like to teach myself new skills. I've been tasked with seeing if Infopath is a suitable tool for a potential project and from what I can tell it is, but with my limited knowledge I keep hitting ...
