I'm thinking of using a repeating table instead of a multiple-select list. Can I submit a repeating table within a repeating section with qRules? It will actually meet my requirements. How will I accomplish this? Thanks.

Thanks I've been able to sort this out without using any code (not a great fan of code). I created another field and then populated that field with the ID value from the original list being looked up to, I used filters to make sure the new field (e.g. supplierID) showed only the ID for the value selected in the old field (supplier). I did some troubleshooting and realised this only happens when I include dropdown (or list) fields looking up data via another dat connection to a SharePoint list.
