I am finding when I create blank form and upload to Sharepoint that I am still seeing a submit button. When I click this button it brings up an email box On the submit options I configured to let users upload to Sharepoint. I thought once it is in Sharepoint it becomes a browser form Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by troy23 on 05-16-2011 Re: How can I save the ID from a combo box? Thanks for the reply Column1[EmployeeID = cboNames] So by referring to cboNames I am referring to the ID value itself. InfoPath automatically takes the first item of the combo box as the ID in this reference. That was what was confusing me. I will try to use as little code as possible as that seems to be the general thinking ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by troy23 on 03-02-2011 Re: How can I save the ID from a combo box? Thanks for that - it is now working. Although the logic seems a bit odd Column1[EmployeeID = cboNames] I presume this says select column1 from the combo box (display text) where the employee id (value ID) of the combo box equals the combo box (or some part of the combo box) Can't understand how that works, but it seems to. As ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by troy23 on 02-25-2011 Re: How can I save the ID from a combo box? Ok I got a bit further, but it still does not give me anything other than the ID. My mistake was that I was taking the main data source rather than selecting from the dropdown of available data sources. Now I can see the fields available in the combo box I am using. What I am trying to achieve is to pick up the selected text in the combo box ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by troy23 on 02-25-2011 Re: How can I save the ID from a combo box? The other image I mean to attach contains the properties of the combo box. Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by troy23 on 02-25-2011 Re: How can I save the ID from a combo box? Thanks for the reply. After downloading your sample I was unable to open it - some message about domain level permission and it being needed to be open from the original location. Anyway - I think I can see what you are saying. I have attached some screen shots of the issue. When following what you said - it works somewhat, but I still only ... Thanks for the example, but as a newbie I am unsure how it is working. Can you shed any light? Thanks Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by troy23 on 02-24-2011 Anyone know how to get selected text from a combo box? I can get the selected combo box ID by using Dim fieldValue As String = nav.SelectSingleNode("//my:cboNames", NamespaceManager).Value But how do I pick up the selected text? Thanks. Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by troy23 on 02-24-2011 Re: How can I save the ID from a combo box? Thanks. It is coming from a secondary data source (web service). But how do I refer to it in the XML for example? This code will get me the ID which is great, but what needs changing in order to get the display value? Dim fieldValue As String = nav.SelectSingleNode("//my:cboNames", NamespaceManager).Value Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by troy23 on 02-23-2011 Re: How can I save the ID from a combo box? I can now get the ID using the code you suggested. Incidentally - how does one retrieve the display value instead of the id? Is there something that needs adding or changing in this code in order to access the display value? Dim nav As XPathNavigator = MainDataSource.CreateNavigator() Dim fieldValue As String = ...
