• Re: Using GetUserProfileByName in Web Forms

Yes, really sure. It's a brand new form. Very simple, in fact it's so basic it doesn't really do anything at the moment. No qRules injected - nothing. All it does is give me the first name, surname and email address of the logged on user using a SOAP web service request. See screen dump below. In InfoPath the form is ...

  • Using GetUserProfileByName in Web Forms

I've always used the InfoPath function userName() to return the ID of the logged on user in my forms. This works fine in InfoPath forms and in SharePoint rendered forms. Recently, I decided to investigate the use of SOAP Web Services (specifically GetUserProfileByName) so that I could return more information about the logged on ...

  • Re: qRules and Web Forms: Erratic Behaviour?

Hi Hilary, I'm afraid to say I've been a fool. I decided to go back and check every single setting in my form to check that perception and reality actually matched. I discovered that the Security setting in InfoPath was actually set to Domain rather than Full Trust. I must have changed this for another form I was working on. ...

  • Re: qRules and Web Forms: Erratic Behaviour?

Hello again, I've checked and I think I injected with Browser/Sandbox (that's the default and I don't remember changing it) but perhaps I should have chosen Browser/Admin Deploy? What's the difference between these two options? The box "Include Term Set APIs" isn't checked. I don't know what the significance of ...

  • Re: qRules and Web Forms: Erratic Behaviour?

I've added the execution history to my form and I've launched the form from both InfoPath and SharePoint to compare the results. In InfoPath the form works as I expected and my SharePoint list is updated. When launched from a SharePoint page the form doesn't work as expected as my SharePoint list isn't updated. In the screen ...

  • Re: qRules and Web Forms: Erratic Behaviour?

I've uploaded the form again (without doing anything to it) and this time the form is rendering correctly. However, I'm now back to my original problem, ie the form appears to run correctly but doesn't actually update my SharePoint list. It works if I run the form directly from InfoPath though. Any problem-solving tips at this ...

  • Re: qRules and Web Forms: Erratic Behaviour?

Post back option was set to "only when necessary" so I've changed it to "always". So, I've re-saved my form and published it with admin approval and loaded it back into SharePoint via Central Admin. However, now when I try and access the form in SharePoint I get the following error: I now seem to have some ...

  • Re: Migrating from the trial version of qRules

That would be really useful Hilary. I have full access to our SharePoint server. I built it myself so I can't really blame anyone else if there is a config issue with it. ;-)The whole process of uploading admin approved forms via Central Admin seems very clunky so anything that makes that process easier has got to be a bonus. I ...

  • Re: qRules and Web Forms: Erratic Behaviour?

As always thanks for a quick response. I'll check the status of post back. I don't believe I've changed that setting so I guess it's set to the default behaviour (whatever that is). Thank you.

Yes, it is an admin approved form. SharePoint doesn't seem that great at handling changes to forms published in this way though. I don't think I've managed to successfully re-upload a form yet and keep it working.
