I read your MSDN posts. Sounds like a bug, but we haven't seen this here. Maybe you have an old version or something. The other possibility is that there's some new setting to make the columns public. Have you looked at the columns in SharePoint and see if there is some setting that would allow them to be "sniffed" from the ...

Hi Michael,
My suggestion is to conver the attachments into links - then, your users can just click on the links in email and they can see the attachments. :)

Why do you need to use code to do this. InfoPath can send email via a data connection and that's the best practice. Do that and live with the extra popup. It's not so bad.

Hi Eliasen,
Yeah, so, rules are fired first. You could use xdExtension in the condition of the rule to call code. That might be better than the status flag since you won't pollute the main data source. Try that and let us know if it works. Search for xdExtension if you have questions. Greg's samples should help.

Probably need to allow the InfoPath Forms Service account to save to the attachments location ... form shouldn't need to be full trust since IPFS will not impersonate the user accounts.

Yeah, I know what you are talking about regarding "track changes", but don't know why it isn't working.
We can contact Microsoft if you want. We tend to use generic Web services here that don't change their parameters so the whole "track changes" thing is moot. We track changes to the XML and XSN in the Web Service ...

Hi Espen,
So you're saying that you converted the text field to a hyperlink but that if you click on the link it doesn't work. I wonder if your data source is correct. Click on the field and see what the type is. If it's text, try changing it to hyperlink and republishing. It should work.

That technique works fine. You can also have sections hide/show in the main view or use buttons to query on demand to improve user perception (if load is slow). Best practice is to filter data but InfoPath doesn't provide server-side filtering out-of-the-box. You can use a Web Service or SharePoint + qRules to do filtering of data you are ...

Here's another idea: do the other people have the save location in their local intranet zone? If not and it's on a separate site you could have a cross domain issue. Just an idea though. We'll look at the form next...

The view should have a red x marks the spot warning mark - "Unbound (Control cannot store data)" - when you hover over the field. That means it isn't bound. Right click the field and choose Change Binding to fix it. Unfortunately, it won't tell you what it was previously bound it to since you deleted the node. :)
Happy ...
