You should be able to retrieve the value you want from the form's outer XML without using code.
You can access the mso-infoPathSolution processing instruction (I assume this is the one you want) in a rule or elsewhere by using /processing-instruction()[local-name() = 'mso-infoPathSolution']and then use substring-before() and ...

If you have the fields set to "Cannot be blank" then they will obviously cause a validation error if you make them blank. Do you have that option checked?
I have no trouble adding conditional formatting to a file attachment control (see screenshot). Maybe that's a difference between InfoPath 2003 and 2007. ...

I think I have an Idea of how to fix this but I can't find a "Clear all Fields" action on buttons I insert into the form. I see "Submit" "Refresh" and "Rules and Custom Code." How exactly are you accomplishing this "Clear all Fields" behavior?

The code would be something like this:
Dim rowList
Set rowList = XDocument.DOM.selectNodes("/my:myFields/my:group1/my:group2")
For Each row In rowList
Dim field1Value
field1Value = row.selectSingleNode("my:field1").text
Dim ...

When I add a new row to a repeating section, I also see the entire new row covered in light blue, but if I begin typing, the text is entered in the first control in the row. If I press Tab, the cursor is positioned in the first control. Is this not true for you?

Could you clarify what you mean by "It doesn't accept the null value"? What precisely is "it?" You should be able to set any field to blank, even if it's numeric and has the "Cannot be blank" requirement.

What is the validation error you're getting when you try to use a rule to delete the file?
Your best bet is probably to use Conditional Formatting to hide or disable the file attachment when the checkbox is checked. Have you tried that?

Rules only have any effect when the field they are attached to changes value. They won't fire if some other field that's referenced in the rule changes value.
Try this:Set the default value of your final text box to be something like this:
(optionButton1 = 'Yes' and optionButton2 = 'Yes', etc...)This will ...

I'm not sure that's exactly what lvirden was going for. If I understand correctly, what he wants is to have a separate view where he lists all the items selected in the first view, with details about each item pulled from a secondary data source. If so, the form I'm attaching is an example of this.
Clay was certainly ...

I'm pretty sure you don't need to use code to prevent people from using large attachments. The XPath formula string-length(path to attachment field) will give you the size of the file (in base64 format; this is about 4/3 the original size of the file in bytes). And you can use validation or rules to prevent the submit if the ...
