The simplest solution is to add a field to the form. The user enters the workplace name into that field, and then clicks the button to query.
The button would have rules to return only the filtered data, that is, the data that matches the workplace name that was entered.

If you're pulling the data from the same source and setting the query parameter (EmployeeName) before calling the data connection, then what you are describing should work. So, to be clear, the rules should be:

I'll assume that dfs:User_Information_List is the repeating field, but let me know if this is not correct.
SortTable /row=/dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields/dfs:User_Information_List /compare=@Name /order=DESC
Can you try that?
Thanks.

For your rules/formulas, you might want to consider using the current() formula. If you're using an xpath it might be pulling the first value in the repeating node, and thus the behavior you're seeing.

Hi Ged,
I'm going to update our support ticket on this, but I wanted to make sure you've been directed to this document.
http://www.infopathdev.com/files/folders/sharepoint_integration/entry60330.aspx
It covers how to use the new Content Types feature in DBXL.
More soon. Thanks.

In addition to looking in the log called Qdabra, please also look in the ...

A Google search on this error suggests that this is a server/hardware issue, and not related to InfoPath or SharePoint. Could you discuss the issue with your network admin?

I'm sure this is doable in code, even though I'm not a programmer. Your code will probably need to iterate thru the list of codes and get the corresponding data from SharePoint, then copy those values to the main data source.
A shortcut would be to filter data on the server using qRules. Here's a PDF with step by step to do this. ...

This error most likely occurs if the .NET framework was installed after InfoPath was. Office 2007 does not by default install all required components for InfoPath 2007 to work with managed code.
To install the PIA:
1. Navigate to the InfoPath Help menu and select Detect and Repair for InfoPath 2003 or Office Diagnostics for InfoPath 2007 to ...
