Use a rule on the drop-down list that populates the field that will store the company name. That rule will filter the web service list for the company whose id matches the selected id in the drop-down list, and then use the matching name to populate the company name field.

The most important thing here is that you are not accessing your secondary data source. In both cases you are accessing the main data source.
To access the secondary data source you have to use:
thisXDocument.GetDOM(''MyDataSourceName'').selectSingleNode(''...'');

Sorry to tell you this, I know it's dumb, but this is the expected behavior.
You can fix the manifest.xsf file so that the filtering happens automatically (i.e. you don't have to use ''refresh filter'') -- but I think you'll find that worse because then the new row won't appear at all because it will be automatically filtered out!!

I'm a bit confused by your ''SOLUTION'' above... Maybe its a terminology issue.
First, a ''form template'' is what you design, and a ''form'' is what
you fill out.
Second, form templates are ''published'', and forms are ''saved''.
When you publish a form template to SharePoint, yes it appears in the Library. You can republish your form ...

You can only use the form if you have the form template. So when you mail the form to someone from within InfoPath, you are only mailing the .xml form (not the form template). The other person has to already have the form template installed... AND they need to have it installed in the SAME location that you did.
Specifying the attachment name as ...

It is highly unlikely you will ever find a translater from .NET to script. Too many features would be unsupported and your code would be severely crippled.

Thanx for the compliment!
I ran a quick test to rebind the main DOM to the database to see if InfoPath would add the queryView property back in -- it didn't.
It is my (unverified) assumption that InfoPath ONLY places this property when the form is first created. If you discover otherwise in your work, please let us know!

Some one else may wish to provide a differing opinion, but as far as I know, you need to call out and use the command line utilities for this.

The only thing I can think of off hand is that you will need a full trust form if you want to use a custom task pane.

First off, schemas get broken up by InfoPath when there are mixed namespaces. It separates each namespace into its own schema file and then uses the import statement to combine them all back together at runtime.
If the schema you want is part of your main schema then you are okay. If it isn't then you have the problem that whenever you update ...
