They are not required admin rights. You just need to go into Modify Settings and Columns, which is at the bottom of the quick launch bar on the left or in 2007 use the Settings drop down and then go to list settings. Then get the List ID from the URL. this is what the Admin rights are for. Nothing else is different from a Form/User permissions ...

Yah it would help if you had the rights to modify the list.
I just looked at a list I update and in DataView it shows a different ID. Maybe someone else can elaborate why that is but I would extrapolate that to confirm that the ID you are using is incorrect.
Do you have a my site or area where you have admin right to test a list?
Or have an ...

I forgot to address your specific need with the counter.
I would receive the data from the SP list in the method above, with the ID field. increment the value and overwrite the value and submit back to SP. You would want to do this on open of the form probably, the quicker the better. Otherwise if their are multiple forms open at once, the ...

Mike,
This is possible. I am receiving and submitting ''update'' data to SharePoint lists currently.
However when i was searching last week there is lots of samples for creating CAML templates for new records but very little on modifying existing records in the lists.

Typically, when it is too cumbersome to set all the conditions for a particular field or you may have multiple fields I would use a ''flag'' field. Create an extra field, which is boolean or numeric and then programatically set it to true, to turn on read-only or false to turn off. Then for the affected forms just have them look at the flag ...

First I would create a new form based on a data connection to your access database. This is good practice and learning for you and will verify your connectivity.
I would use a default form first to become familiar with the process and fields.
Here is a link to a how-to that is ...

The inking feature only works with Windows XP Tablet Edition which is only available on a certified Windows Tablet which has an EMR stylus and digital tablet screen.
That is what all of the Ink support in office 2003 and the service packs is regarding, XP tablets.
You can get them on Ebay starting at 500 dollars. I would recommend Acers or ...

What i have found is that the syntax for the xpath statement is very critical and if it is not right you do not get an error or anything you just get duplicate values and it does not work. Here is what I have done to try and make sure my syntax is right.
When you open the initial Drop-Down Properties box. In the Entries field, if you scroll ...

Another method that may be simpler, which I have used, is to leverage the form library of the form in Sharepoint. Onload submit to a data connection that saves a blank copy of the form with a specific filename. Then Query another data connections that returns the contents of the form library with a filter for the specific file name. I use the ...
