Once you have your field setup that you will use to store the current view status (ViewStatus). This field will have a from the view name of the save view for a previously completed form. In From Options, open rules you would create a rule with a condition (ViewStatus = ''Save'') that will switch views to save.
For an example.
For code you ...

Also you can use conditional formating on sections or table rows. So you create a section for each type or you have a repeating section which contains all of the items. In properties go to the display tab and conditional format. Add a condition where your check box selection does not equal the item in your table and select Hide. This way the ...

Obviously the amount of data being loaded can have a big effect. I have had forms which query hundereds of rows in a database take minutes to load the data.
Another aspect is the way the data is displayed or laid out. If you have multiple repeating tables or sections these can also take time to populate the data depending on how it is ...

This may be more complex than it apears but...
If you just need the name of the current view, to display in the form for that view, I just usually type it in somewhere as a header. You could also set a field or expression box with the name.
If you wanted a field that always contained the current view, you would need to set this with the name of ...

Are you actually going to save the form or is it just used to save the data. For SQL Data forms I usually do not save the form as an indivdual copy but just use it to update the live data. I use the method Greg suggests and have a flag field that updates after the submit. If you use the default submit functionality of InfoPath you can have ...

This can be a common issue. I usually create some fields that I use as flags to keep track of the form state. So I add an update to a flag field when I save the form and then do a conditional check in the open rules and if the form is updated switch the views accordingly.
There may be another field that is filled in or updated on a saved form ...

This can be done without code in SharePoint I know, by accessing the form library as a data connection, but you do not specify where these forms are located. You can use the how-to section and look at getting the user name from SharePoint. This would be very similiar but instead of working with the filename to find the user you could use the ...

In order to connect a form to a MYSQL database you would need to use a webservice. InfoPath only supports Microsoft SQL or Access for its native ''Database'' connection. Unfortunately it does not use ODBC. However with Web Services anything is possible. I am not familiar however with what it would take to add webservices to MySQL.
Thanks

I came up with one work around. I can translate spaces to a character(~) and then translate it back on the other end. Before External call replace spaces with a character, make call, change back or delete. In external script I can translate the character to spaces.
Not ideal but it works.

Oh Great VBScript Gurus.
I am launching a windows script via a button in Infopath and passing some variables to it. I need to pass some variables which have spaces in them and therefore need the command line to have quotes('').
I have seen in VB where quotes can be embedded (''''Test'''') supposedly but I am getting an error with InfoPath. ...
